Originally from Upstate NY and a graduate of Cornell University, I have lived in the Boston area for almost 30 years. I live with my husband of 27 years, Tom, and sons Sam and Josh and Murray and Melby our two dogs. I have two sons who are both in college which makes me an empty nester, a new experience.
After years working as an Human Resources Manager in the financial services industry, I left the workforce to spend more time at home with my growing sons. I became very involved volunteering both in my community and in the medical world. Some of my work includes leading a Patient Family Advisory Council for a cancer institute, serving on a Quality Patient Safety committee in my state of Massachusetts and joining as a member of a Global Patient Advisory Council for a national patient experience organization. Recently I started blogging about many topics including many in the area of patient advocacy.
I am a two-time cancer survivor and through it all continue to enjoy a variety of active pursuits. I am an avid tennis player, skier and love to walk and bike and just be outdoors. Cooking is also a passion of mine as well as keeping fit and maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
